Al and Kristina's Sunrise Beach Wedding on Sand Key

sand key beach weddingWe were up well before the crack of dawn this morning to head out to beautiful Sand Key Park near Clearwater Beach for Al and Kristina's Sunrise Beach Wedding on Sand Key!

It was perfect! Sand Key Park was all but deserted, and the early morning weather was gorgeous. In attendance were Al's mother and Aunt from Arkansas, and Kristina's mother, who came all the way from Alaska for their wedding on the beach! Kristina's father couldn't be here, but she did manage to speak to him on the phone in Alaska right after the ceremony.

Their wedding included our sand unity ceremony and was intimate, elegant, and laid back (our favorite kind!). After the wedding, the bride and groom enjoyed an early morning champagne toast. And once Claire was finished dragging them around Sand Key for their wedding pictures, everyone headed off to eat wedding cake for breakfast!

Al and Kristina, we wish you all the best as you begin this new chapter in your lives together! The slideshow below contains a few of our favorite pictures from your wedding. Keep an eye on our website at www.SimpleWeddingsFlorida.com for the rest in about a week or so.

Thanks again for choosing Simple Weddings!

Sincerely,

Diane and Eric’s Don Cesar Wedding

don cesar wedding photographyDiane and Eric had a fairy tale wedding on the courtyard steps of the Don Cesar Beach Resort last weekend. They pulled out all the stops: Catholic priest? Check. Celtic flute and bagpipes? Check. Outdoor air conditioning? Check.

But their Don Cesar Wedding was anything but stuffy. They made it a point to have a relaxed, laid back wedding ceremony and reception, and their guests had a blast! We provided their wedding photography (despite having to practically drag the happy couple around the hotel and beach for their wedding pictures!) , and local musicians Carlos and Joe rocked their wedding reception on the Don Cesar’s fifth floor.

Diane and Eric: You have a wonderful family and a great group of friends! Thank you so much for choosing Simple Treasures Photography and allowing us to be a small part of your Don Cesar Wedding!

Sincerely,

Claire & Jeff Copeland

Rona & Rob's Anna Maria Island Beach Wedding

anna maria island beach weddingRob & Rona contacted us from England a couple of months back. They had been together for almost 15 years and had two beautiful children, and had finally decided it was probably time they tied the knot! They were interested in a simple beach wedding on Anna Maria Island near Bradenton, Florida. While Anna Maria Island is outside of our local area, Claire (being a fellow Brit!) just couldn’t say no. So we charged them a few bucks extra for “petrol” and set a date!

It is only about an hour’s drive to Anna Maria Island for us, but on the way, we drove through some of the worst weather you could imagine – torrential downpours, street flooding, and thunderstorms – not exactly beach wedding weather! Between thunderclaps, we managed to catch Rob on the phone, and he informed us that the weather was “fine” (for those of you who don’t speak British – that translates roughly to “it’s not raining right this second”!).

Our arrival on Anna Maria Island was met with gusts of wind and looming black clouds. Needless to say, we were concerned about the weather! We jumped into action and set up quickly for Rob & Rona’s beach wedding, and we have to admit, the wedding ceremony felt slightly rushed.

But the weather eventually cleared. The threat of rain meant we had Coquina Beach Park on Anna Maria Island to ourselves, and the quick wedding ceremony meant Rob, Rona, and their two gorgeous children, Robert and Laura, had extra time for their wedding pictures and family portraits on the beach! And believe it or not, we were all treated to one of the most stunning sunsets any of us has ever seen!

Rob and Rona’s Anna Maria Island beach wedding was attended by their son and daughter, as well as a pod of dolphins that kept swimming by just a few yards from their ceremony - it couldn’t have been more perfect!

Rob & Rona: You have a beautiful family and we were so honored to be a part of your Florida Beach Wedding! Thank you so much for choosing Simple Weddings and allowing us to share in your special evening – it was one we won’t soon forget! We hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday and we wish you all the best. Please drop us a line next time you are in Florida!

Sincerely,

Cathy and Ed’s Sand Key Clearwater Beach Wedding

sand key beach weddingCathy contacted us a few months ago and explained that she and her fiancé Ed were interested in joining their two families with a simple beach wedding in Clearwater, Florida while they were visiting from Illinois. Simple Beach Weddings being our specialty, of course we obliged!

Cathy and Ed had planned to hold their beach wedding ceremony on Clearwater Beach, but when Claudette and I arrived and had a look around, Clearwater Beach was teeming with people! I quickly called Cathy, explained the situation, and suggested we all drive five minutes across Clearwater Pass to Sand Key Beach Park. Cathy and Ed were all for it, and we’re so glad – we practically had Sand Key to ourselves!sand key beach wedding ceremony

Cathy & Ed took the last minute change of plans in stride and had a beautiful, relaxed beach wedding ceremony near the north jetty at Sand Key Beach Park. In attendance were Cathy’s son, Kyle and Ed’s son, Kevin. Ed’s daughter was unable to attend, but Cathy was on the ball and represented her in their multi-colored sand unity ceremony!

After their Sand Key Beach Wedding, the four of them enjoyed their beach portrait session with Claudette, then headed to their beach house for a relaxing evening with the family.

Cathy, Ed, & Family: Thank you so much for making Simple Weddings a part of your wedding plans! We wish you all the best and hope to hear from you next time you visit Florida!

Sincerely,

Jeff Copeland
