Maria & Doug's Wedding at the Don Cesar

Maria and Doug are from New Jersey and were planning a vacation in Orlando, Florida. They contacted us when they decided to nip over to the coast for an intimate wedding on the beach. We recommended the infamous Don Cesar Beach Resort on St Pete Beach, Florida.

Maria and Doug have an interesting story - they lived in the same neighborhood and worked in the same building off and on over several years, but never met. Fate finally brought them together about a year ago, and they have never looked back!

Their wedding was held in the Don Cesar's West Pavilion, with the white sand beach of the Gulf of Mexico as a backdrop. They had a beautiful floral arrangement from our friends at Seaside Florals on St Pete Beach, complete with rose petals on the ground around the ceremony and two bouquets on pedestals to frame their wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony, they spent some time on the beach with Claire for their wedding photos, then retired to the Maritana Grille in the Don Cesar for a romantic dinner (and a gigantic wedding cake)!

Maria & Doug's Don Cesar Wedding

David and Heidi’s Sunset Beach Wedding on Treasure Island

There’s nothing like a streaker to make for a memorable beach wedding! But we’ll get to that in a minute…

Heidi and David were visiting from Michigan and booked one of our Snooze and Cruise Simple Wedding Packages through the Chase Suites Hotel in Tampa. As part of this package, the Chase Suites provides transportation from the airport to the hotel, to and from the courthouse to pick up their Florida marriage license, and to the Port of Tampa for the couples' Honeymoon Cruise. And of course, Simple Weddings provided the couples' Beach Wedding package!

Heidi and David chose to hold their Florida Beach Wedding on Treasure Island’s aptly named Sunset Beach, and it certainly lived up to its name. They had an intimate and incredibly romantic wedding ceremony with just their parents, siblings, and a few close friends present. David and Heidi looked absolutely stunning, and their wedding was full of love and laughter. Everyone agreed it was absolutely perfect!

And here’s the best part...Apparently some of David and Heidi's wedding guests had asked the couple in earnest what they should wear to their beach wedding. David jokingly told them, "It's a laid-back beach wedding, wear whatever you want...wear a Speedo if you like". Well, that was all it took for David's friend, Kevin. He picked up a brand new black and red pair of Speedos the morning of the wedding, and as soon as Jeff said “you may kiss the bride”, Kevin stripped off his clothes and went running into the Gulf of Mexico in nothing but his Speedos! He then quite happily posed for wedding pictures in them - The entire wedding party was hysterical!

It was certainly a Simple Weddings first! And has to go down as one of the most memorable moments in beach wedding history! David and Heidi took it all in stride and had a blast.

Sandy and Jerry’s Don Cesar Beach Wedding

Sandy and Jerry are from Hudson, Florida, and decided to hold their wedding ceremony on St Pete Beach near the Don Cesar Beach Resort with a few of their closest friends and family.

It was an incredibly busy night at the Don Cesar with multiple weddings taking place, but Sandy and Jerry took all the hustle and bustle in stride. They were married on beautiful St Pete Beach just north of the Don Cesar, and their beach wedding ceremony was simple, elegant, and perfect (if we do say so ourselves)!

Afterwards they spent some time with Claudette for their beach wedding photos, and Claudette even managed to talk the newlyweds into dipping a little more than their toes in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico in their wedding attire. Now that’s our kind of wedding photography!

Sue and Brian’s Redington Beach Wedding

Sue and Brian were married this past Thursday on the third anniversary of their first date. They live locally in Largo, Florida and visit their friend Carol frequently at her condo on Redington Beach. Carol graciously offered them the use of her waterfront condo for their wedding, and even went so far as to decorate her condo for the happy and appreciateive couple. The “boys” waited patiently downstairs as the “girls” got ready in the condo, and Claire made several trips back and forth to make sure things ran smoothly.

Sue and Brian's romantic beach wedding ceremony was framed by a stunning Grand Arch courtesy of Signature Elegance of Sarasota. Their intimate and elegant wedding ceremony was attended by Brian’s two brothers, Sue’s maid of honor, and a handful of their closest friends. After their beach wedding ceremony, they enjoyed taking their wedding pictures on beautiful Redington Beach with Claire. Then the group headed to the Conch Republic Grill on Redington Beach for dinner.

Ruth & Josh's Sunset Beach Wedding on Treasure Island Florida

Josh is from Canada. Ruth is originally from Florida, and now lives in Virginia. But not even thousands of miles could dampen this happy couples’ beach wedding plans!

Ruth and Josh were married this past Tuesday on Treasure Island’s beautiful Sunset Beach (one of our favorite Florida beach wedding venues). It was just the two of them (well, sort of – Josh somehow managed to “accidentally” invite a local fisherman from the parking lot to their beach wedding!), and they opted for our Simple Wedding Package with a full 90 minutes of Photography by Claire.

Their beach wedding ceremony was relaxed and intimate, and included our sand unity ceremony. Afterwards, Claire had an absolute blast taking pictures of the gorgeous newlyweds and the amazing sunset!
